pH Regulators

Automatic pH controllers    Ph Controller

pH? What is it? Why is it important in a swimming pool?

pH is a measure of the acidity or alkalinity of a solution.
It is important to keep pool pH at, or very close to, 7.4  for several reasons -

Human eyes have a pH of 7.4 - so correct pH will avoid red, stinging eyes

Chlorine tablets are at their most efficient at pH 7.4

High pH causes lime-scale on pool surfaces, pipes, fittings and the sand in the filter. The pool surfaces become rough and scaly, and the sand-filter turns to stone. Those are very expensive problems. Circulation is reduced and the pool is in serious danger of going green.

Low pH corrodes metals and creates metal oxides, which stain pool surfaces. Grout, plaster and the stone of the pool surround is dissolved by the acidic water, leaving the pool-owner with another expensive, unnecessary bill.

If pH is outside the ideal range of 7.2 to 7.6 it will damage
your pool and cost you money.

The solution is an auto pH regulator.

Auto pH Regulators measure the pH of the water as it circulates.

The regulator injects tiny quantities of Hydrochloric Acid (much cheaper than pH-minus powder) to bring the pH back to the optimum of 7.4.

Once the pH of the water has been stabilised the consumption of Chlorine will plummet, returning significant cash savings for years to come and making the pool a more pleasant place to be!
Lime-scale will be eradicated, the grout, pump and filter will last longer and the water will have a better ‘feel’ and colour.  All in all, an Auto pH Regulator is a sound investment
